Vaccination Policy for Children, Adolescents and Teenagers

At Torrey Pines Direct Primary Care, the health and safety of our entire community is our highest priority. We are honored to care for individuals who are especially our patients undergoing chemotherapy or living with immunosuppression following organ transplant. Also, we are grateful to be invited to share space with the people who call the Laura Baker Services Association home and the people who care for them. We feel a responsibility to help protect them.

To help protect these individuals, we kindly require that all children and teenagers receiving care at our clinic be vaccinated in accordance with recommendations supported by the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

These recommended vaccines include protection against:

- Measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR)
- Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTaP/Tdap)
- Polio
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
- Pneumococcal disease
- Meningococcal disease

(We recommend but do not require seasonal influenza nor seasonal Covid vaccinations.)

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of preventable illnesses and to maintain a safe environment for patients who may not be able to mount a full immune response on their own.

We recognize that healthcare decisions are deeply personal, and this policy is grounded in compassion, respect, and a shared responsibility to protect those at highest risk. Our goal is to foster a safe, caring, and inclusive clinical environment for everyone we serve.

We appreciate your understanding and your partnership in keeping our community healthy.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
